Thanks for writing something for me! I’m looking forward to seeing what you come up with. The first thing I’d like to say is, feel free to ignore everything in this letter except the DNWs. I've written out some general likes and a few things I like about each pairing, but please don't feel constrained - - I’d much rather read something you had fun writing. I didn't include prompts for every trope because this letter would be as long as War and Peace if I did! I have added a few notes for tropes that seemed a little more ambiguous, but again, don't feel obligated to stick to what I've written here. Any rating is fine!

Debra/Dexter (Dexter)

 

I was shipping these two right from “If I could have feelings at all, I’d have them for Deb” in the pilot, so I was stunned when the showrunners did decide to go in the incest direction in later seasons, even if they pulled back from it by the end. Anyway, at the beginning of the series, I think Dexter loves Deb more than he’s aware of. That shot of him grinning at a picture of her as he listens to her voicemail, even when there’s no one around to fake a smile for, speaks volumes. Even as a kid, he just wants Deb to be happy - he gets injured climbing a fence to get her ball, feels guilty when Harry takes away her dog because of him, sleeps in her room when she’s scared at night, etc. My favorite parts of the show are when they show their devotion to each other, even when choosing each other means making a sacrifice (Dexter killing Brian and imprisoning Hannah, Deb covering for his crimes, etc.).

 Wanda/Pietro (Marvel Cinematic Universe)

How do I love this pairing; let me count the ways: the touchy-feely, codependent, us-against-the-world vibes, how clearly devoted to each other they are, the hand-holding (really more like hand-caressing) at the beginning of the movie, the protectiveness, the shared traumatic backstory and the fact that for years all they had was each other, the scene where she's upset and he pulls her close and kisses the her hair, the way they were able to silently communicate with just glances, the total lack of personal space in general...

I'll take anything: pre-canon fic from before or during their time with HYDRA, angsty canon-compliant fic that keeps Pietro's death, AUs where Pietro never dies, or where Wanda manages to resurrect him, etc. I am also familiar with the comics if you want to pull from 616/Ultimates/whatever.

Charles/Erik (X-Men: Alternate Timeline Movies)

To me this is a very bittersweet pairing. If the fic takes place when they're working together (or already together-together), I'd like it if there's still some tension and ideological differences; conversely, if it takes place when they're enemies, I want to see the strength of their emotions towards one another, even if their other responsibilities constrain them from demonstrating it. Feel free to include other X-Men characters or background pairings (even other Charles or Erik pairings taking place when they're at odds with each other).

Feel free to write in any era/timeline; I've seen all of the movies and I think their relationship has interesting potential at any point, even though it's obviously going to be a slightly different dynamic XMFC-era vs post-Apocalypse vs the DoFP apocalyptic timeline etc.

• There are obviously a ton of opportunities for canon-divergence for this pairing at any point in the timelines, but a few ideas off the top of my head: Erik stays around after Charles in injured on the beach to make sure he gets to the hospital, Charles isn't injured and Erik succeeds at destroying the fleet in Cuba, Charles discovers that Erik is innocent of killing Kennedy before DoFP and breaks him out early, post-DoFP, Erik stays around at the end of DoFP or Apocalypse.
