Dear author/artist,

Thanks for creating something for me! I’m looking forward to seeing what you come up with. The first thing I’d like to say is, feel free to ignore everything in this letter except the DNWs. I've written out some general likes and a few things I like about each pairing, but please don't feel constrained -- I’d much rather read something you had fun writing. Also, any rating is fine.

Prompt mixing is welcome.

General likes:

Competence (physical/intellectual/superpower-related/etc.), plotty casefic, characters rescuing each other, characters rescuing themselves, time-travel/Groundhog Day plots, canon-divergence/for-want-of-a-nail AUs, canon-compliant fic, hurt/comfort, angst, action/adventure, outsider POV, AUs where the characters still have their powers/skills, dimension travel and/or meeting alternate versions of themselves, self-sacrifice, ethical dilemmas, character studies, unreliable narrators.

Relationship likes:

I was shipping these two right from “If I could have feelings at all, I’d have them for Deb” in the pilot, so I was stunned when the showrunners did decide to go in the incest direction in later seasons, even if they pulled back from it by the end. Anyway, at the beginning of the series, I think Dexter loves Deb more than he’s aware of. That shot of him grinning at a picture of her as he listens to her voicemail, even when there’s no one around to fake a smile for, speaks volumes. Even as a kid, he just wants Deb to be happy - he gets injured climbing a fence to get her ball, feels guilty when Harry takes away her dog because of him, sleeps in her room when she’s scared at night, etc. My favorite parts of the show are when they show their devotion to each other, even when choosing each other means making a sacrifice (Dexter killing Brian and imprisoning Hannah, Deb covering for his crimes, etc.).

Prompts:

• Season 2 AU where he does turn himself in to Doakes. Deb has to re-examine their relationship and comes to some badly-timed realizations.
  
  • This could focus on his surrender/the immediate aftermath
  • Or it could be set later, with Dexter in prison, and Deb visiting him either just to talk or to ask his advice about catching another serial killer (like a more helpful version of Hannibal Lecter in Silence of the Lambs).
• Season 4 AU where Deb talks to Rita, who mentions that Dexter had already told her about his mother’s death, allowing Deb to put together that Dexter already knew that Brian was his brother.
• Season 8 fix-it fic diverging from mid-season
  • One or both of them receives serious injuries in the murder-suicide attempt, so other characters find out about it.
  • Or just something where Hannah never showed back up to ruin everything.
• Some sort of Season 7 AU diverging near or during the finale:
  • They go on the run
  • Dexter turns himself in so Deb won’t have to live with LaGuerta’s death (and all his other kills) on her conscience.
  • They decide to face the legal music together. To avoid being forced to choose between testifying against each other, and potentially getting caught lying under oath, they decide to dissolve Dexter’s adoption and get married for the spousal privilege.
• Dexter telling Debra that he killed Brian to save her.
• Outsider POV of someone figuring out their relationship.

Harry Dresden/Thomas Raith

Between the canonical fake-boyfriends ploy and the fact that Harry describes how attractive Thomas is every single time he shows up, I feel like Jim Butcher is just kind of handing this one to us. Anyway, I love that they’re protective of each other - Thomas mysteriously and repeatedly helping Harry/saving his life was what made me start shipping in the first place - but also that they respect each other’s abilities and feel comfortable calling on each other for backup. Dubious consent due to Thomas’s nature is fine.

Prompts:

• Something from when they were living together: sexual tension, first-time fic, etc.
• One of them gets hurt while protecting the other - nothing permanent, but serious enough that the uninjured one feels guilty about it.
• Thomas has to feed while they’re trapped somewhere (either alone or with someone who’s clearly uncomfortable with the idea of that kind of violation) and Harry offers himself.
• Thomas POV, especially something where he feels guilty for wanting Harry and assumes it’s unrequited.
• Harry admitting to himself that his appreciation of Thomas’s looks is not just heterosexual manly admiration.
• During a case, they act protective/close to one another in front of another member of the White Council, maybe Ramirez, who concludes that they’re lovers. So they have to keep up that pretense again, and maybe it stops being a pretense (or maybe they both secretly wish it wasn’t a pretense but won’t admit it to each other).
• Just generally, outsider POV from someone who doesn’t know they’re related.
• Outsider POV from someone who DOES know they’re related.

Marvel Cinematic Universe

Pietro Maximoff/Wanda Maximoff:

Fic Prompts:
What I enjoyed about Wanda & Pietro in Age of Ultron was the touchy-feely, codependent, us-against-the-world vibes, how clearly devoted to each other they are, the hand-holding (really more like hand-caressing) at the beginning of the movie, the protectiveness, the shared traumatic backstory and the fact that for years all they had was each other, the scene where she's upset and he pulls her close and kisses the her hair, the way they were able to silently communicate with just glances, the total lack of personal space in general... Anything focusing on their loyalty and devotion to one another would be great.

Plotty prompts: I’m interested in how they interact with the other Marvel characters & what it means for two people who’ve been relatively socially isolated apart from one another to suddenly need to work with a team, so I’d love something looking at how they’d adjust to being Avengers in a Pietro-lives AU. Outsider POV fic would also be fun, not just because of the touchy-feeliness but because of all the other habits/behaviors they would have picked up after years of living in each other’s pockets. Pre-canon fic from before or during their time with HYDRA, AUs where Pietro never dies, or where Wanda manages to resurrect him, etc. Endgame AUs: One twin is snapped but the other isn’t. Both twins survive the snap and are involved in the time heist: you can send them to Vormir (for maximum angst) or else have fun with them going back to 2012 or visiting Asgard, etc.

Smutty prompts: I’d be interested in fic where they’re both sexually inexperienced and start experimenting with each other because they can’t imagine getting vulnerable/intimate with anyone else, or something set during canon where they’ve tried to resist for years and finally cross the line with each other. For darker fic, maybe something focusing on the moral lines they’re willing to cross for one another; for something light, maybe how their relationship brings them comfort during all the trauma they have to live through. The twins get sex-pollened while on a mission. Or the whole team gets sex-pollened and everyone’s too busy dealing with their own horniness to try to stop the twins from getting it on with one another.

I like Vision as a character, but no focus on Wanda/Vision, please (references to a past relationship in post-Infinity-War fic is fine).

Being physically affectionate with one another (cuddling, sleeping next to one another, etc). Wanda and Pietro on the cliffs of Vormir (or at the location of one of the other Infinity Stones). Fighting bad guys together. Hand-holding.

Marvel (Comics)

Pietro Maximoff/Wanda Maximoff

Because this is comics and there isn’t exactly a single consistent continuity, feel free to work in any part of the multiverse (616, Ultimates, House of M, etc.), any time period, or any version of the characters - even if it’s an older or more obscure run that I haven’t read yet, I’ll just be happy to have something to add to my to-read list. Also because this is comics, feel free to ignore any canonical plot developments that you don’t like or which would interfere with your story (for example, I prefer to stick with Magneto being their father).

I totally read Pietro’s reactions to Wanda’s relationships as being motivated by jealousy, so maybe something exploring his angst/guilt/shame over what he believes to be one-sided incestuous feelings (they can be actually one-sided or not, depending on how angsty you want to go). Or any first-time scenario where circumstances require them to have sex (sex pollen, fuck-or-die, aliens made them do it, ritual sex to save the world, etc). Maybe something where they were together when they were younger and surviving alone together, broke up after becoming Avengers, and reconnect again when they’re older and more mature. I’d also be interested to read something in a non-Ultimates universe where their incestuous relationship - current or past - is discovered: their teammates’ reactions, the PR fallout, everybody jumping to the conclusion that Pietro is Tommy and Billy’s father (can be actually true, or not…).

I also wish we could have seen them interacting more with each other in the immediate fallout from House of M, given that they both just made world-shattering decisions for the sake of the other, so I'd love something along those lines (and the same goes for emotional fallout from any of the other crazy storylines they've been put through).

Game of Thrones / A Song of Ice and Fire

Cersei Lannister/Jaime Lannister

Requesting fic. Book and show-specific prompts are below; I'm okay with canon-typical everything, including sex, violence, angst, and character death.

Either version:

Plotty: Fic set early in canon or pre-canon as they have to sneak around and hide their relationship would be great. An AU where they marry as teenagers because Aerys demands other houses begin marrying brother-to-sister. An AU where they get caught by someone other than Bran (or where Bran manages to tell someone about them) at Winterfell. Mutual angst and pining during Jaime’s captivity.

Smutty: Sex on the Iron Throne, crossdressing for sexy reasons as adults, genderplay, their wedding night in an AU where they manage to marry.

Show-version:
I enjoyed them flaunting their relationship in S7 and would love to see more of that, either as missing scenes or in a world where they did somehow manage to crush their enemies and end up ruling together (openly claiming their child as Jaime's, marrying one one another, dealing with all the consequences of their actions up to that point and the enemies they've made, etc.). If you want to go angsty, maybe something set at/after the end of S7 as their priorities diverge and their relationship deteriorates. I'd also love to see something where Myrcella lives and gets the chance to interact with both her parents once she knows the truth. In terms of season 8, I’d be interested in fic where Cersei wins and retains the throne, or is ousted but survives long enough to show up again after Jon kills Dany, or where she did decide to send her troops North (even for selfish reasons like wanting to protect herself/her unborn child from the White Walkers) and how that would affect the resulting political dynamic.

For the show version, I would prefer if you either ignore the valonqar prophecy entirely or have it play out as a mercy kill or consensual mutual murder or something similarly non-cruel.

Book-version:
Something post-ADWD where they reconcile (or partially reconcile - go as angsty as you want). Alternately, angst where Cersei figures out that Jaime ignored her letter on purpose. Lovers’ spats. Anything focused on their identical-ness. Facing Dany and her dragons together when she finally shows up.

Feel free to go full murder-suicide or whatever if you're including the valonqar prophecy for the book version, or to ignore the prophecy and give them a happy ending - just as long as they die together if they do die.

The Borgias

Cesare Borgia/Lucrezia Borgia

My favorite part of the show is how obsessed with each other Cesare and Lucrezia are - in particular, I love how devoted Cesare is and how determined he is to give Lucrezia everything he can, which complicates the power dynamic in interesting ways.

Canon-based prompts:
I really enjoy how competent Cesare and Lucrezia become in their respective domains, so a glimpse of them working together to pull off a plot would be lovely. I’d also love outsider POV for this pairing, either someone discovering their relationship, or having uncomfortable suspicions that they are unable to prove. Early-seasons fic with them in denial would be great - I'd love to see something that explored their slide from repression/denial to "aware of their feelings but not acting on them". Alternately, post-show established-relationship fic, historically accurate or otherwise - maybe a fic where they fully commit to their affair while Cesare conquers the rest of Italy and Lucrezia is regent in Naples? I’d also be interested in an AU where they start their sexual relationship earlier - maybe on the night of Lucrezia’s first wedding, something where she decides she’d rather lose her virginity to Cesare than to Sforza. Finally - incest pregnancy, either as post-series fic or canon divergence.

AUs:
How about a daemon AU where they are constantly weirding people out with how much they touch and hold each other's daemons? Or a soulbond AU, where they either accidentally or on purpose create a bond with each other when bonds are usually for romantic couples. Or bad-guys-made-them-do-it/fuck-or-die, where they both end up being really into it.

Art prompts:
dancing together, canon-typical demonstrations of physical affection (especially Cesare kissing Lucrezia's hair or face or hands...or lips), riding on horseback, something that invokes the dark/light motif the show liked to use, religious symbolism.
